Adam Driver revealed that he and Steven Soderbergh pitched a Ben Solo standalone movie to Lucasfilm back in 2021. Kathleen Kennedy and the Lucasfilm brass were on board, but Disney executives Bob Iger and Alan Bergman ultimately vetoed the project.
The idea would have explored Ben’s path between The Last Jedi and The Force Awakens, but for now Lucasfilm is focused on other Star Wars films and the script goes back on the shelf.
