Christian Bale is in talks to join the sequel to “Heat” (1995), reports Deadline.
Details about Bale’s role are not disclosed. Leonardo DiCaprio has already joined the project. Michael Mann will direct again.

Filming starts in 2026. United Artists (Amazon MGM) will handle distribution.
Story Basis
“Heat 2” is based on Mann and Meg Gardiner’s 2022 novel. The action will unfold before and after the events of the original with Al Pacino and De Niro.
Viewers will see the backstory of the confrontation between detective Hanna and robber McCauley, as well as the consequences of their showdown.
Bale’s Projects
In spring 2025, Bale will appear in Maggie Gyllenhaal’s remake of “Bride of Frankenstein.” A biopic “Madden” with Nicolas Cage is also planned.
