Lost, The Hobbit trilogy and Ant-Man franchise star Evangeline Lilly took to social media to reveal shocking details about the aftermath of an injury she suffered last year.
The actress said she was diagnosed with brain damage after falling on a boulder, which led to a severe concussion.
“I’m entering this new year, the Year of the Horse, with bad news about my concussion,” Lilly said in a video posted on her page. “Many of you have asked how I’m doing, wondering about the results of the brain scan you’ve heard about. The scan results showed that almost every part of my brain is functioning in a weakened mode.”
Despite the difficult diagnosis, the actress is determined. “My job now is to work with the doctors to get to the bottom of the problem and then start the hard work of recovery, and I’m not enthusiastic because I feel like I’m doing nothing but working hard,” Lilly added. “The decline in cognitive abilities since my face injury has helped me slow down and allowed me to finish 2025 more calmly.”
In the caption of the post, the actress wrote: “The verdict is in. I do have brain damage due to trauma. It’s comforting to know that my cognitive decline is not just menopause, but it’s frustrating to know how difficult the road to regaining function will be. Thank you all for your continued questions, concern and continued prayers.”
