The Sopranos creator David Chase is building MK-Ultra for HBO, a drama about CIA chemist and spy Sidney Gottlieb. He headed the infamous mind-control program that experimented with psychedelics, hypnosis and outright torture during the Cold War.
Casting and scheduling details remain under wraps, but HBO clearly wants another prestige thriller-horror hybrid. Getting Chase back in the fold is a major flex for the network in the streaming wars.
