Sony Announces Cast for The Beatles Biographical Films

Sony Pictures has officially announced the cast for an ambitious project — a series of biographical films about The Beatles. Each member of the legendary Liverpool quartet will get their own separate film.

The roles of the musicians’ wives will be played by well-known actresses. Saoirse Ronan will portray Linda McCartney, Anna Sawai will play Yoko Ono, Aimee Lou Wood will transform into Patti Boyd, and Mia McKenna-Bruce will play Maureen Starkey.

The band members themselves will be played by young Hollywood stars. Paul McCartney will be portrayed by Paul Mescal, known from the drama “Normal People.” John Lennon will be played by Harris Dickinson, George Harrison by Joseph Quinn from “Stranger Things,” and Ringo Starr by Barry Keoghan.

All four films will be directed by Sam Mendes, Oscar winner for the war drama “1917.” Each film will tell the group’s story from the perspective of one member, allowing different facets of The Beatles phenomenon to be shown.

The premiere of all four films is scheduled for April 2028. This will be the first major film project about The Beatles since Peter Jackson’s documentary “Get Back” in 2021.
