The actor is in talks to star in the Batman sequel with Robert Pattinson
Marvel Cinematic Universe star Sebastian Stan is in talks to join Robert Pattinson in DC Studios’ sequel Batman 2.
The actor is no stranger to playing superheroes - he is known for his role as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier in a number of Marvel films and TV series. Who exactly he will embody in the new dark story about the Knight of Gotham and whether his character will be an enemy or an ally of Bruce Wayne is still kept secret.
The highly anticipated sequel, which will once again be directed by Matt Reeves, is expected to begin filming in the spring of 2026. The worldwide release is scheduled for October 2027. The original 2022 Batman grossed $772 million worldwide.
At the time of writing, Batman 2, co-written by Reeves and Mattson Tomlin, features A-list actors: Robert Pattinson, Scarlett Johansson, Colin Farrell, Jeffrey Wright and Andy Serkis. It is expected that Barry Keoghan will appear again as the Joker.
For Scarlett Johansson and Sebastian Stan (if they sign a contract), Batman 2 will be another joint project after several Marvel films about the Avengers. Stan also previously starred opposite Pattinson in the thriller The Devil Is Always There (2020).
The Oscar-nominated “The Apprentice: The Rise of Trump“‘s recent credits include the comic book films “Thunderbolts” and “Captain America: Brave New World,” with “Avengers: Judgment Day” and the thriller “Fjord” coming up.
