“Zootopia 2” has become the highest-grossing animated film in Walt Disney Animation Studios history. The sequel grossed $1.46 billion, allowing it to surpass the previous record holder — “Frozen 2,” which grossed $1.45 billion.
The animated film was released 10 years after the premiere of the original, which also had enormous success. The plot centers on Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps, who investigate in a city of anthropomorphic animals.
Currently, the directors of the original “Zootopia,” Jared Bush and Byron Howard, are preparing a third film, indicating the continuation of the successful franchise.
