“Zootopia 2” directors Jared Bush and Byron Howard have confirmed work on a threequel about the lives of anthropomorphic animals. The information was revealed during a Q&A session with the creators. Negotiations about the plot of the future animation are currently underway.
According to Bush, the concept for “Zootopia 3” will be developed over the next 2–3 years, followed by two more years of production. Based on these timelines, the threequel’s release should not be expected before 2030.
Recall that “Zootopia 2” was released in mid-December and immediately became the global box office leader, grossing over a billion dollars, confirming the franchise’s popularity and justifying the decision to continue the story.
